Missouri factoids: The capital of Missouri is Jefferson City; its largest city is Kansas City. Today’s population in Missouri is approximately 6.27 million (averaging around 92 people per square mile). Missouri’s state tree is the ‘Flowering Dogwood’; its state flower is the ‘Hawthorn’; and its state bird the ‘Bluebird’. Missouri’s State Motto is: “Salus Populi Suprema Lex Esto” (Let the welfare of the people be the supreme law).

- March 5, 1974. As part of his 50 states lecture tour in 1974, Sri Chinmoy delivers his fourth lecture —in 4 states— on this day at 9pm entitled “Prayer” in Room 217, Haag Hall at the University of Missouri-Kansas City (UMKC), in Kansas City, MO.

The Senior Olympic Games, June 1987 A book published in 1974 by Sri Chinmoy entitled “At the Doors of Time and Delight Opportunity Knocks” has Q&A from his students in Centres in Kansas City, MO and St. Louis, MO. An aphorism prior to the section of Q&As is “No Time” is:

1987
- June 27, 1987. Sri Chinmoy offers a Peace Concert with a piano performance at the Graham Memorial Chapel, Washington University, in St. Louis, MO.
- Earlier that day, Sri Chinmoy offered an opening meditation and gave a talk during the opening ceremonies at the First US National Senior Olympics in St. Louis, MO. The talk was entitled “O Senior Olympics, O Senior Olympians”. Prior to the opening ceremony, Sri Chinmoy was interviewed by the St. Louis Post-Dispatch — part of which was in the article on the Games.
1987-current, the Sri Chinmoy Oneness-Home Peace Run often visits Missouri on its cross-country trek and engages with its welcoming citizens (see example of photos of its previous visit).
