(Note: In Hindu tradition —and in this specific instance— “master” is the term used for the ‘Guru’, a spiritual guide to a spiritual aspirant. Sri Chinmoy quite frequently used this term for God or the Supreme).

- In Run and Become, Part 13, the entry for Feb. 5, 1983, Sri Chinmoy says : “Many, many years ago, before my disciples were even born, I gave up praying and started meditating. Once you enter meditation, you don’t get joy from praying any more. But now I shall have to start praying again. I have to pray to God for speed and stamina and also not to get cramps in tomorrow’s marathon.“
1987-current, the Sri Chinmoy Oneness-Home Peace Run often visits New Hampshire on its cross-country trek and engages with its welcoming citizens (see example photos of past visits).

Fifty oneness-state-songs,
Our Lord’s Compassion-Gongs.
Within, without, a seeker’s sleepless cry
To reveal America’s perfection-sky.

Among the many songs Sri Chinmoy composed on America, his adopted country, this one is perhaps the most powerful:
America, America, America!
Great you are, good you are,
Brave you are, kind you are.
O my America, America.
Your Heaven-freedom is earth’s aspiration-choice.
With you, in you, is God-Hour’s Victory-Voice.
